Discounted registration fees for Paddlefest have been extended till Sunday, May
10th at midnight. Register now if you haven't already.


Both online and mail-in registrations are available for the June 27, 2009 event.
Paddlers may register online or via mail at discounted prices until June 19th.

Volunteer at Paddlefest


Our new online registration for Paddlefest volunteers in now open with over 40
different volunteer jobs to choose from. Paddlefest 2009 is looking for Day of
Event volunteers to fill positions for our Kid's Outdoor Adventure Expo, Ohio
River Music & Outdoor Festival and Finish Line Festival.


As a volunteer you will receive: A 2009 Paddlefest Volunteer t-shirt Half price
paddling - $12.00 FREE parking at Coney Island 2009 Paddlefest water bottle An
invitation to our Volunteer Appreciation Party in July! And, LOTS OF FUN!


Dragon Boat Racing


At least one Dragon Boat and perhaps Dragon Boat Racing, too will become a
featured event at Paddlefest 2009. Originating in China more than 2000 years
ago, dragon boat racing competition is a folk ritual that is now an
international sport. Dragon boat racing teams in the tri-state area are invited
to participate in Paddlefest and to race each other between the bridges on the
Ohio River along the Serpentine Wall. BCS Dragon Boat teams and other dragon
boat racing enthusiasts interested in helping to make dragon boat racing an

River Music Festival


Join us at Coney Island on Friday night, June 26 for our River Music Festival
with the following bands scheduled: (subject to change) 5:00 - 6:10pm - The
Tillers 6:20 - 7:20pm - Strawboss 7:30 - 8:30pm - Jake Speed & The Freddies 8:40
- 9:40pm - Rumpke Mountain Boys 9:50 - 11:30pm - Backyard Tire Fire

Safety clinics and kayak rolling exhibitions using Coney Island Sunlight Pool
Canoe/kayak beginner classes, rolling classes and Smart Start classes
at Coney Island Sunlight Pool Kids? Expo is bigger and better this year New
camping location at Steamboat Bend at Woodland Mound Park The Great Ohio River
Swim in its 2nd year will take place Saturday, July 26 at the Public Landing.
Expect many more beyond last years 71 swimmers to participate!
