with Yamaha 60 and trailer for $8000. Boat seems in good shape all around.

I don't know what they go for now-a-days, but is the price his asking price
or a price you have already negotiated? Boat prices are very negotiable,
especially right now.

If it's his asking price, it does no harm to make a lesser offer and work
back up if you have to.
You don't want to be so cheap though that it causes him to not want to
provide after sale service.

They are low-end boats. Consider the value of the motor and trailer
over the hull. It's a buyer's market so look at other's before you
break out the cash.
