They've threatened to pull out of Canada if they don't " get what they
want".Fiat has most likely looked at the Management (as ****ty as it
is ) and are nervous. The CAW has said if that happens, they'll never
sell another car in Canada.
Besides, the Canadian employees do more work, with less injury....

---------------------------

You spinmiesters crack me up. Go read the announcement by Fiat.
It specifically states that they want the UAW and CAW to get in line with
the pay and benefit packages typical of Toyota and Honda. It also states
that the strongest opposition to the Fiat requirements are coming from the
CAW. So far, the CAW won't budge. Pretty soon they will be out of a job.

Chrysler doesn't pay it's tax bills either. They owe Canada $500,000 from
2002 or something like that. Real welchers. Shut them down, we don't need
that kind of leach business model in Canada. Plus, from what friends tell
me they still don't know how to make a automatic transmission. Ya, I bought
2 in the past and learned the hard way.

May tag says what I think of GM & Chrysler.

Just had a yearly safety inspection done on the 2007 Dodge Charger by the
dealer where we bought it.
They claimed the outer tie rod ends were wore out and had to be replaced
before passing the inspection.
This is at 66,000 kilometers...about 40 k miles.

I thought that was your son's car now? Oh, that's right, you still
have to do everything for him. Fetch his beer, give him a free place
to lay around, give him a car...... Was he too drunk to go get it
inspected himself, or was it that he just didn't feel like it?

Sounds like a local dealer hitting up the factory for unneccesary
repairs in lean times.

Could be. A local Chrysler dealer I pass by had lots of vehciles last year,
but lately, not much new on the lot. Maybe they don't want to be stuck with
inventory in Canada for the $500M past due tax bill?

I may be mistaken, but I think your '07 Charger has front end components
that are shared with some Mercedes models. Sounds a little fishy to me.
Must have been a rough 40k miles.

That's what I was thinking! But I'm not sure he's up to driving too
much. You have to leave the house for that. Get dressed, etc. Much
easier just to yell at dad to fetch more beer!

Car had 56000 kilometers on it at 1.5 years of service. It was an
Enterprise long term rental to a Pratt & Whitney employee who travelled back
& forth between Halifax & Montreal. Car listed at $28k new here, but my
son (me) paid $15.3K.
I wanted him to get a new Honda Civic or a Toyota Corolla.....but who
listens to the old man.
