"The captains of industry..." Another fairy tale. i always like 'masters of the universe'....they get to tell us why they keep the profits and we have to bail 'em out when they get in trouble ----------------------------------------- We didn't *have* to bail anyone out. They were bailed out because of much ballyhooed concern for the loss of jobs, health insurance and pension plans. If you recall, the justification was "it will be worse if we don't bail them out" and "nobody will buy a car from a company in Chapter 11". Well, in the end, it's going to come down to Chapter 11 or the equivalent of it anyway. Obama's requirements for additional deep cuts in the generation of an updated plan over the next 60 days is forcing further concessions and reductions in benefits and the federal government is now planning to get into the auto warranty business in a sad attempt to shore up consumer confidence. I have to admit, though, that it is quite funny to see so many Republicans suddenly touting Ayn Rand. Classic Comics must have released a new title. No one with a working brain and anything to do in life would read one of her overwrought tomes. -- Palin & Bachmann in 2012 - All Stupidity All the Time |

The law of unintended consequences comes to mind. The government, congress, should have kept hands off and let the private companies go bankrupt. |
