Still waiting for the wind to die down here, two bathroom remodels to progress past insanity stage, 1,000 of poured stamped, dyed and sealed concrete, and various other lists of things to do so I can take the maiden voyage in my new used boat. Guess I should go out there and pull it in the garage and check on all the electrical and start making sure it doesn't go up in a puff of smoke. Lots of strange wires that seem to go to nowhere. It has a livewell pump, a bilge pump, running lights, depth finder, nothing too complicated. The zerks could use a shot of KY. Need to build a mount for the trolling motor. Check the wheel bearings. The usual. Trees are budding here. Hummers showing up. Snowed today. Spring is close. Steve, in Xtreme SW Utah It's still too early here in MA. Our marina officially opens May 1st although they start commissioning, launching and sticking boats in their slips starting next week. I was always an early launch and a late (sometimes in December) haul but as I've gotten older, I now wait. Decent boating weather (ocean) here really doesn't begin until late May and into June. I remember having 8 inches of snow on May 3rd a few years back, plus the ocean in these parts doesn't really calm down until late May or June. Eisboch Guess it IS the time to get things ready to go. Check for leaks, dead batteries, the kind of stuff I usually wait until I'm on the water to discover. Steve |

Eisboch- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Well I asked my two sons to take the tarp off of mine last Saturday as all the snow and ice is finally off the drive. Well, you know how lazy teenage boys can be so when I saw that it was still there on Sunday afternoon I thought that they had forgotten about me. They must have at least gotten around to untying everything because on Wednesday I notice that it had blown off and was lying in the neighbor’s yard, three house down! |

Steve, in Xtreme SW Utah What day does summer fall on this year, in your neck of the woods? :-) --Mike Well, I'm not Steve, but usually the 1st day of summer is June 21. After that,t he days start getting shorter and ... hotter. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Well, it was a joke. Colder climates, *day* of summer.... never mind. ;-) --Mike OK, I may be slow but I'm still wearing grandma's army boots. ?;^ Q -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= They don't make 'em anymore like the ones grandma used to wear! --Mike- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - True, but it's amazing what you can find in the attic of a 100 yr. old farm house.... |

I've been inland lately due to the high winds and seas on the Atlantic. It's nice to have two boats again! |
