Anyone actually ......

doing any boating? Still waiting for the wind to die down here, two
bathroom remodels to progress past insanity stage, 1,000 of poured stamped,
dyed and sealed concrete, and various other lists of things to do so I can
take the maiden voyage in my new used boat. Guess I should go out there and
pull it in the garage and check on all the electrical and start making sure
it doesn't go up in a puff of smoke. Lots of strange wires that seem to go
to nowhere. It has a livewell pump, a bilge pump, running lights, depth
finder, nothing too complicated. The zerks could use a shot of KY. Need to
build a mount for the trolling motor. Check the wheel bearings. The usual.

Trees are budding here. Hummers showing up. Snowed today. Spring is
close.

Steve, I haven't begun to dig mine out yet. too much weird weather to
put up with here. Pop-up rains heavy wind gusts are going to be
coming, and even though the day may start out warm, sunny and kind.
out on Lake Carlyle, you could be caught in a thunderstorm and hard
winds really easily. Nah, I'll be getting to them towards the end of
April.

It's still too early here in MA. Our marina officially opens May 1st
although they start commissioning, launching and sticking boats in their
slips starting next week. I was always an early launch and a late
(sometimes in December) haul but as I've gotten older, I now wait. Decent
boating weather (ocean) here really doesn't begin until late May and into
June. I remember having 8 inches of snow on May 3rd a few years back, plus
the ocean in these parts doesn't really calm down until late May or June.

Guess it IS the time to get things ready to go. Check for leaks, dead
batteries, the kind of stuff I usually wait until I'm on the water to
discover.

Yes, noticed that. Apparently a week of strong easterlies has pushed

I did get around to downloading my GPS track from the last adventure
however. Comparing it to Google Earth and "leepa.org", think I now
know where I got it wrong. Be on the lookout for a 27 ft SeaRay

Well I asked my two sons to take the tarp off of mine last Saturday as
all the snow and ice is finally off the drive. Well, you know how lazy
teenage boys can be so when I saw that it was still there on Sunday
afternoon I thought that they had forgotten about me. They must have
at least gotten around to untying everything because on Wednesday I
notice that it had blown off and was lying in the neighbor’s yard,
