Obama Approval Stays Sky High

The latest Hotline/Diageo poll shows President Obama's favorability
ratings remain high, with more than two-thirds of voters (68%) expressing
a favorable opinion of him. In addition, 70% believe that he will be able
to bring "real change" to the way things are done in Washington.

Additionally, voters are encouraged by the group of economic advisers
surrounding him, with 64% expressing confidence in the team Obama brought
into the White House.

A new Fox News poll shows Obama's approval rating at 63%.

Uh oh...Faux News isn't jiggling the numbers enough... :)

The latest Hotline/Diageo poll shows:

Overall, Voters Support Obama's Economic Plans, But Those Following Them
"Very Closely" Have Doubts

Well, of course. Uncharted territory. Obama is trying lots of different
things and like most of us, hope some of them work properly. We've given
up entirely on Republican drip down.

I don't think Obama has gone nearly far enough, but I understand his
political need to not slam to the mat the bankers, stockbrokers,
corporate execs, and other perpetrators of massive-scale financial fraud.

I think the FDIC should move in right now and close a half-dozen major
national banks, such as Citibank and Bank of America, get rid of ALL the
management, and sell the assets off to groups who might have some idea
of how to run a bank in a way that protects depositors, makes the right
sorts of loans, and stays out of speculative markets. Sort of like the
small local bank I use.
