I really like all that metal. Looked like a sweet come-along too, but I didn't quite get its purpose. Saw one boat without a kicker. You have a kicker on yours? --Vic |

That blue boat is an 8.1.L powered boat and cost about $100k. The boat I rode in was a 25' Yanmar diesel jet. About $130k. My 21' would sell new now for about 70k. Yes i have a kicker. Lots of the guys troll for fish and the jet is not the best for trolling. |

Dennis Lower Rogue. Ran from about 10 miles above Gold Beach to about Blossom Bar. Which is about 50 miles up river. The toilet was at the Dinner and there was a womens john and then the mens john that made sure the seat was up. |

It was a great run and I got some good photos of the wildlife along the way (eagles, osprey, otters and deer). Your video contained many familiar sights. Our boat was a 40 footer powered by three Chevy 496 V8's The skipper firewalled the throttles on the way back to Gold Beach and I clocked him at 52 mph with the portable GPS I was carrying. The current was probably good for maybe 5 mph of the 52 at that part of the river. |

Was snowing maybe 300' higher than us, and we only saw bird life, no otters, deer or bear this time of year. They run Berkeley style pumps and that gives a higher speed than the Hamilton / Kodiak pumps most of us run. the Low Pressure Hamilton's hook up better in white water. Maxfield and anouther boater hired one of the guide boat drivers for training, and some still hit. One of the tour boats sunk a couple years ago. Probably hit a rock and sliced the bottom. No one wet or hurt. |
