My guess is that he is done. You overlook the fact that Dashle would
have been approved by the Senate. He withdrew because he was a
distraction. He's a distraction now, and he would be a distraction a
month from now.

According to Politico and The Hill, Dashle backed out because his
support in the Senate collapsed.
