Yeah, you can get a lot of mileage out of a gallon of ice cream!
My now 14 year old daughter has found the delight in Starbuck's hot
chocolate at about 4 bucks a cup!
Hey, as long as she's earning the money by mowing the lawn, washing the
car, etc., let her go!
When my younger daughter was 13-14, the complaint was that her allowance
wasn't big enough. I made a list of chores, and together we assigned a
monetary value to each. Washing the car was like $5, mowing the grass was
$8, doing dishes was $1, vacuuming the house was $5, and so one. Some of
the chores were limited, like washing the cars, to once a week or
thereabouts. But, she could earn up to $200 a month doing chores from the
list.
The most she ever earned was about $55, but she didn't whine about her
allowance continuously.
