I suspicion that the "-Hide " (as in "Hide quoted text...." or the
like...), which breaks the link, is an unwanted and unintended
consequence and/or gift from some web based newsgroup reader such as
google.


Gene, for giggles try putting an "" and a "" respectively before and
after the link to your website (in your signature). No spaces .... just:
websiteurl.

It works well to identify and isolate the complete URL. The arrows won't
show up in the posted link.
