Website Errors

I'm kinda clueless, but I *am* trying to understand this.... There have been several folks trying to go to my website and getting the 404 error page. It appears that the error is coming from *something* appending "-Hidequoted " to the URL. I'm guessing this is a screw up from google groups. Can anybody comment on this or otherwise shed some light on the occurrences? As far as I can see, this problem only occur when someone read a reply to one of your posts through Google Groups, as Google Groups hide quoted text from previous posts in a thread and then add a link to toggle view/hide of quoted text. Website Errors
"Gene" wrote in message ... That was my suspicion. This is characteristic of what I am getting back in the error logs: "pamandgene.tranquilrefuge.net/boating/the_boat/my_boat.htm-Hide " I suspicion that the "-Hide " (as in "Hide quoted text...." or the like...), which breaks the link, is an unwanted and unintended consequence and/or gift from some web based newsgroup reader such as google. Gene, for giggles try putting an "" and a "" respectively before and after the link to your website (in your signature). No spaces .... just: websiteurl. It works well to identify and isolate the complete URL. The arrows won't show up in the posted link. Eisboch |
