Golf balls roll much further when the ground is frozen. Also, it's
possible
to put balls out of saturated sand traps that are frozen. And, hitting
a
frozen green can be just like hitting a paved cart path.

Lastly, when there's little wind, golf is very playable when the temp
is in
the low 30's.

I wonder how many idiots are out playing golf when ground is frozen and
it is 30F? And why.

Hopefully more than those who sit around a computer all winter
complaining about Sarah Palin.

Eisboch

Ahhh. Sarah! The gift that keeps on giving and giving and giving.

Are you sexist? Don't you remember all the hilarity over Dan Quayle? I
even remember a book of his famous mis-statements.

BTW, I'm not *complaining* about Sarah Palin. I'm enjoying her. I think
she is the perfect symbol for the contemporary Republican party, and I
hope she is the party's nominee in 2012.

She's still at it, out there saying one stupid thing after another. Why
would I want her to stop?

Take up Golf.

Eisboch

When you start off shooting in the low 70's, as did Harry, golf wouldn't be
much of a challenge.

No, but a couple in the 250 range. And, of course, a couple in the woods.

30's. Low 50's here, and I avoided doing the pruning on the grape vines by
going to the boat and installing a new impeller and nozzle in the jet.

Cold when you are used to 68-75 degrees this time of year.

58º at 6am today when I got to the dock - in shorts.

It was a great day of fishing.
