Why aren't we taxing the crap out of alcohol consumption? ANSWER ME HENRY WAXWORM!!! Because: 1) It would accomplish nothing. 2) Booze lobbyists would never let it happen. Nope. And I'm not even going to detail why because it will turn into a rant and I'm just not up to it today - tonight - this morning - whatever. If cigarettes are any indication, more taxes would not work. NY taxes the bejeezus out of them and it doesn't seem to slow sales any. |
