My dog does that.

Did you see my comment a few days ago in the thread where you were
wondering how to get rid of Norton? I just helped a lady with a new HP
laptop and Vista. Norton was easily (took probably 7 or 8 minutes of HDD
grinding by the uninstaller) removed using the uninstaller included. I
then installed free AVG with no problems.

I saw it. Getting up the courage to try. I had sorta decided to take the
computer over to the Geek Squad to have it done but just haven't got a
round tuit. Maybe I'll give the uninstaller a shot.

Did you do it from the Windows Control Panel "install/remove programs" or
from a dedicated Norton uninstall?

There's also something called "Windows Defender" in this thing. Not sure
what it's all about.

To uninstall Norton I went and clicked on the Windows logo in the lower left
hand corner, used to be Start in WinXP. Then opened the list of programs
and there was a title called Norton. Clicked on that and there was an
Uninstall entry. Clicked on that and several minutes later it was good to
go. Free AVG installed perfectly.

Courage my man. You didn't build a successful business with help from the
over priced Geek Squad.
