My dog does that.
Did you see my comment a few days ago in the thread where you were
wondering how to get rid of Norton? I just helped a lady with a new HP
laptop and Vista. Norton was easily (took probably 7 or 8 minutes of
HDD grinding by the uninstaller) removed using the uninstaller included.
I then installed free AVG with no problems.
I saw it. Getting up the courage to try. I had sorta decided to take
the computer over to the Geek Squad to have it done but just haven't got
a round tuit. Maybe I'll give the uninstaller a shot.
Did you do it from the Windows Control Panel "install/remove programs" or
from a dedicated Norton uninstall?
There's also something called "Windows Defender" in this thing. Not sure
what it's all about.

According to Norton, follow this procedure.
Remove your Norton product
1 Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
2 Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.
3 Click the Norton product that you want to uninstall.
4 Click Uninstall.
5 In the User Account Control window, click Continue.
6 Click Remove All.
7 Click Next, and follow the instructions.
8 If you have other Norton products that you want to uninstall, repeat
lines 3 through 6.
9 Restart the computer.
Windows Defender is an Anti-Spyware software from Microsoft.
Thanks to you and the Duck.
Here goes ....
