Did you see my comment a few days ago in the thread where you were wondering how to get rid of Norton? I just helped a lady with a new HP laptop and Vista. Norton was easily (took probably 7 or 8 minutes of HDD grinding by the uninstaller) removed using the uninstaller included. I then installed free AVG with no problems. |

There is a simple reason why dogs do that. They found something REALLY smelly and they want to roll in it to cover their scent. |

My dog does it when he wants some attention. He'll lay on his back with his legs moving around, pause with his legs point straight up, and suddenly jump up, give a good shake and then stare at me. Then I know for sure it's time for a good dump. |

Maybe I'll give the uninstaller a shot. Did you do it from the Windows Control Panel "install/remove programs" or from a dedicated Norton uninstall? There's also something called "Windows Defender" in this thing. Not sure what it's all about. Eisboch |

Remove your Norton product 1 Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel. 2 Under Programs, click Uninstall a program. 3 Click the Norton product that you want to uninstall. 4 Click Uninstall. 5 In the User Account Control window, click Continue. 6 Click Remove All. 7 Click Next, and follow the instructions. 8 If you have other Norton products that you want to uninstall, repeat lines 3 through 6. 9 Restart the computer. Windows Defender is an Anti-Spyware software from Microsoft. |

Eisboch To uninstall Norton I went and clicked on the Windows logo in the lower left hand corner, used to be Start in WinXP. Then opened the list of programs and there was a title called Norton. Clicked on that and there was an Uninstall entry. Clicked on that and several minutes later it was good to go. Free AVG installed perfectly. Courage my man. You didn't build a successful business with help from the over priced Geek Squad. |
