Well, except for those who live in Quebec.

Or Nova Scotia.

I mean seriously - Nova Scotia? What the heck kind of name for a
province is Nova Scotia?

snip..

I thought you took Latin in school.
Nova Scotia was pretty big and important in colonial times...... until that
ungrateful rabble south of the border stole a chunk for Maine and it was
further divided when the United Empire Loyalists came north after your
revolution and formed New Brunswick.

Then again, it is Canada.

Which is full of Canadians. :)

Although I have to admit - they do make a great boat.

They sure do and it's nice to see them appreciated by a man of your refined

I think you'd have to break up the big cities, not the states.

Look at the population centers.

http://tinyurl.com/6engau

What gets me is that almost all of the large population centers have
Democrats as leaders. Yet the slums, squalor, poor, uneducated, and unwed
mother problems continue, year after year after year.

Some folks can't seem to learn.

Any problems we have, are not worth changing the Constitution.
Personally, I think that is something that shouldn't be taken lightly.
I'd also point out that the converse is also true. Why should a sparsely
populated state's Senators have the same power as a large state? I'd
also point out, the smaller states tend to have longer entrenched
politicos, thereby increasing their power.

And more to the point, why in the hell would I want to give more
conservative states more power? ;-)

I think the field needs to be evened out a little to bring balance back

For the record, CT, much like Rhode Island and Delaware is actually
two states. In CT, it's East of the River and West of the river. East
is much more conservative than West of the River. The only reason
Courtney was reelected to his Congressional seat was because of the
Hispanic vote in Norwich and New London - the rest of his district
voted Republican.

In fact, there was a movement a few years ago to suceed from CT and
join Western Rhode Island which is actually a city state rather than
being a pure state and the western part of the state resents the power
of Providence.

Delaware is another example of two states in one.

Would that be the same John Herring who dislikes blacks and Latinos?

Wouldn't do it Harry, I know OG Latino gangbangers and I am pretty
sure they wouldn't care for some grina susia using their brothers name
to pose on the net.. Seems I remember you calling them the s word a
couple of times too... My wife got a guy and his son great 40k a year
jobs with bennies just when they needed legit incomes. We are still
pretty good freinds, I can call and ask them if you like? They are
Latin Kings, but I bet they know some 13's in your area;)

Not to worry. Harry can find no racist slurs I've made 'cause they don't
exist.

Strange though, a 'Private Caller' asked my wife for me. I answered, but
the person hung up while I was taking a hearing aid out of my ear. Kinda
chicken****. Oh, now I just got another call asking if I was the asshole.
Must be slammer or Salty. Didn't sound like Harry, and didn't have a
Canadian accent.

Personally, I think that is something that shouldn't be taken lightly.

also point out, the smaller states tend to have longer entrenched

That's true of all Federal and State legislative bodies Democrat,
Republican or any other party worth note.

What I'm thinking is that smaller would be more ammeable to change so
you don't get people like Barney Frank sitting in power for as long as
he has.

Maybe term limits is more appropriate - I can't say, but I'm tired of
the same old people telling me the same old things in the same old way
with the same old results.

It's getting boring. :)

And more to the point, why in the hell would I want to give more
conservative states more power? ;-)

Because we rule and you drool? :)

Look, I'm a conservative soul, but a pragmatic one - I understand that
compromise, while not always personally palatable, is necessary to
move the country forward. And, this may shock you, it actually helps
progressive causes because it dampens the enthusiasm of over reaching
social engineering and experimentation.

Actually the guy in office gets paid mailings, lots of face time on the
media, so a built in step up to getting reelected. And here in California,
they have gerrymandered the election districts so that there is almost no
change in the legislators. And the Legislature is much more liberal than
the state as a whole is. We have finally during the last election voted to
have an "independent" group do the boundry setting. The Santa Clara
district that Pete McCloskey and Ed Schau represented, included most of
silicon valley and then a 2 mile wide strip over highway 152 to include
Livingston. A hundred miles away. We do have term limits for state
legislators in Calif.

Similar situation here in MA. Most of the state is filled with left wing
liberals, but here on the south shore there are at least 3 or 4 of us that
tend to be more conservative.

It's evolution in action. More and more voters are realizing that the
modern day Republican Party has little more than greed and selfishness
underpinning it. This was demonstrated clearly by the last eight years
of the "conservative" Bush Administration and was a sub rosa theme of
the McCain campaign. That and the party demonstrating over and again
that it was mostly for "white folks" is what is doing it in.

Another product of the DNS's best election tool, voter fraud....
double counting and throwing out Coleman votes. Saw one example where
two forms were filled out basically the same, one had a scribble over

rejected. Hopefully the courts can get it straight before we have yet
another intolerant hater like Franken in office.. Have you ever heard
