One question, New York City?

Not my field of expertise ;-), but it might be doable. Without using
water, the volume is considerably less. Everything is centrally
located. There are high volume composting systems, but retrofitting
could be a bitch.

You have to question how it is done now. Hopefully, the water treatment
is better than is was 20 years ago when you could see hundreds of Coney
Island Whitefish floating in the NY harbor.

Even though it was Bush's fault, Obama will have that fixed in no time.

in less time than that. But you have to wait until Jan. 20. But he's
probably got a running start on it already.

You say he's got the runs already? Hell, he's part of the problem then.

There's just way too many people in the world today.
We have to come up with a way to 'thin the herd' over the next few
generations or we'll all be over run.

I agree completely, and I think it inappropriate for families to have more
than one or two kids.

But think for a second Harry. The kid that was not conceived or the one
that was aborted might have grown up to become another Einstein, Louie
Pasteur, Marie Curie or Harry Krause.

True, but many will think that means government control, as in China. I
believe enough in people to think that if we were told "It would help to
limit the family to 2 kids", quite a few would do that. No laws needed.
After all, most of us recycle, and nobody's holding a gun to our heads to
force us to do that.

When I was a kid, overpopulation was already an issue and the limit of two
was already the 'solution'. Hasn't worked at all.

As long as the Roman Catholic Church maintains its stance on birth control,
I believe the overpopulation will get worse.

One thing that could be done is to limit income tax deductions for dependent
children to no more that 2 kids.
Have more than that and you get no further tax deduction.

Now it's a choice.

Or...another Loogy or Reggie or Florida Jim. Better to use a condom and
prevent that sort of accident.

Why don't you start preaching that to Africa, Middle East and Asia.

That's the problem. The developed world has pretty well cut back but how do
you tell developing cultures.
It'll take quite a while.

I say we start with Canada...

Our leaders say were just the opposite.
We need at least 250k immigrants each year to maintain services for an aging
population.

Cut back? Most of them never had sanitations measures which we consider
basic. Read the article.

I don't go around interviewing Catholics, but is the church's rule about
birth control really still such a powerful issue for them? I mean, are
people still that goofy?

In a word, No.

Those days are long gone.
