No, I don't. I discuss religions, and I do point out from time to
time that many of those who proclaim their religion the loudest seem
to be proclaimers only.
Do you realize how arrogant and just plain stupid you sound when you
make statements like this.

Actions speak louder than words. Most of those here who proclaim their
religious beliefs the loudest talk the talk but their behavior here
indicates they don't walk the walk.
You have often professed an interest in the teachings of Buddha and may
possibly be a follower of the Dali Lama. You actions of constantly
mocking and judging other beliefs is contrary to Buddhism and the
teachings of the Dali Lama.

I'm also interested in the teachings of Jesus and many of the Biblical
prophets, and I certainly am a fan of the Dalai Lama.

It's not the "beliefs" I mock, it's the self-proclaimed believers.

Harry, could you give an example of 'self-proclaimed believers'? You keep
using the term, and I've asked for examples, but you've not been able to
provide any. I even offered a suggestion or two.

Does your religious faith encourage the 'mocking' of others? My father's
second wife was Jewish, but I've never known her to mock anyone.

It's really easy, John. Anyone who professes to be a "Christian," but
doesn't follow their saviour's teachings in most of the important ways
is worth mocking.

I'm sure you recognize this:

Lk. 6.27-36
38 ¶ Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a
tooth for a tooth: Ex. 21.24 · Lev. 24.20 · Deut. 19.21
39 but I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall
smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let
him have thy cloak also.
41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee
turn not thou away.
43 ¶ Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy
neighbor, Lev. 19.18 and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do
good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use
you, and persecute you;
45 that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for
he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain
on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even
the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do
not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is
perfect. Deut. 18.13

Are ye a judge, Harry? Has your religion seen fit to bestow the title of

Here, this is something I've been trying to get across to you for the past

You keep 'judging' the faith, beliefs, and practices of others, post
cut'n'pastes from your bible, but don't practice same. I'm thinking there
is a name for people who do that, but I can't recall it. It would be
insulting, in any case.

How could you possibly know what John's or anybody else's interpretation of
their personal religious beliefs are? Do you assume that two people
sitting in the same church next to each other in the pew believe *exactly*
the same thing?

Holy Mackerel! Harry. I gave you more credit for smarts than that.

I'm not proclaiming my religious beliefs by quoting lines attributed to
your saviour. I'm quoting *your* religious beliefs, and suggesting that a
true believer would follow them. That is all.

How could you possibly know what John's or anybody else's interpretation of
their personal religious beliefs are? Do you assume that two people
sitting in the same church next to each other in the pew believe *exactly*
the same thing?

Holy Mackerel! Harry. I gave you more credit for smarts than that.

Right. Everything in religion is subject to interpretation. Bomb
villages, kill women and children? There's a passage in the bible
somewhere that can be interpreted as saying it is ok.

Right?

Well. My wife has some bad vibes about the Catholic church.
Why? A young life going to mass in Poland, where many would sleep
during mass, then gather outside and engage in un-Christian-like
gossip. She hates gossip.
But she acts like the type of Christian I learned to strive for when I
was growing up and going to a Baptist church - generous in spirit,
seeing the good in people, and always trying to show your good side.

Won't work if you let yourself get ****ed off though.
That's my downfall. Still working on that. Making progress.
Best trick is don't hit the send button if you're ****ed.

I hope you and your wife don't believe that all Catholics engage in gossip
and more than any other religion engages in gossip. There are probably many
horror stories out there about Baptists also. In fact there are probably as
many horror stories as there are religious sects.
