You know, in the quantum world, that is entirely possible. It's called
The Theory of Universal Wave Function. For each action taken (or each
event happening), there exits a Universe in which the action wasn't
taken or the event didn't happen. We don't see it because we
experience it - it's just a slight shift in reality. In theory, this
may be the key to FTL travel as we could shift from our solar system
to Omicron Persei 8 in the blink of an eye just by shifting our
position from here to there - it's an orientation feature - a nearby
universe shifting positionally so that Omicron Persei 8 is just a step
away. Other than a shift in galactic position, we wouldn't know the
difference because that universe is so close to ours that there is no
practical difference.

The one I favor is the Chaotic Inflation Theory - sometimes known as
the Bubble Universe Theory in which the observable universe becomes
too large to see meaning that it has to bud off at some point so we
can maintain current reality - kind of like the way an ameoba
duplicates itself. This is a never ending process because as it buds
off, it is basically a replica of the original, only slightly smaller
in space. Over time, slight changes get magnified, etc., etc., etc.

Aren't you glad you brought this up?

Yeah, in a way, because I've been meaning to point out that we live in a
multidimensional universe, meaning several more than current theory
officially recognizes. I mean you and I and Harry and Loogy and Tim and
JiminFl and everybody else here most certainly exist in another dimension.
We may be the same, or we may be totally different.

Those of us that are sensitive to this prospective generally keep our mouths
shut, recognizing that although we may make sense somewhere, we probably are
completely nuts elsewhere.

Make sense?

Absoutely - there is probably a universe in which you are Harry and
Harry is you.

As frightening as that may sound.

Interesting little side note. There is a conceptual theory that black
holes may be caused by collisions of two diametrically opposite
universes.

Of course there is another theory that claims that if black holes
exist, there must be white holes which could very well be alternate
universes.

The needy have more sense. Have you ever eaten goose? It's quite atrocious.

If you think design by committee is bad just wait until management by
committee comes into vogue.

We all are but that is a political patronage position.

Why don't we put T Boone in charge and give all the auto makers wind
turbine contracts to keep them busy until they figure out a car that
people will buy.

T Boone would put a wind turbine on top and a 50 mile long natural gas
line coming out the back of the vehicle.

Only if you are a bad cook. Wild geese are lean, very lean, so you have to
moist cook. Domestic geese are fat factories. Breast out snow geese and
drag in a little flour and fry, for a near steak experience. I do not hunt
anymore, just to much hassle and too far to go. but the geese we shot
tasted good.

I wonder if they included any actual WORKERS....you know...those who
DO the job ..instead of the rich cocksucking middle-management
asswipes, and blood-sucking lawyers.

I see you were never promoted above operating a broom.

They had their chance call me up and send me anywhere in the world. All
they had to do was call me up, I was ready to go. I was ready to go in
1990 too, even after my enlistment was up. I never would have passed the
physical after 1989, skydiving did me in.

You're most likely correct. My experience was with a domestic. Atrocious.
