Obama may be thinking that as soon as Hillary takes the state job (and
quits her senate seat) Drudge or some other muck raker will come up
with the smoking gun that links Bill with taking too much foreign
money (perhaps using it to pay down her debt) and he will be done with
both of them.
Bear in mind Bill was never really a strong supporter of Obama and as
late as September/October he still couldn't even bring himself to use
Obama's name.
I'm sure Obama would just quietly let both of them twist in the wind,
distancing himself and the party as far as he could get, from yet
another Clinton scandal.

That wouldn't surprise me either. It would be a smart move on Obama's part.
