I'm just writing about the "news" programs on Faux. Their commentators, such as Hannity, O'Rally, and soon, Beck, are just plain trash. They have their news slant, but actually have a better news arm than the other networks from what I've seen. CNN still reigns on the international front. I think Hannity and Beck are idiots. If you can ignore O'Reilly's pomposity - difficult, but doable - he's not bad if you're interested in the subject matter he's discussing. Good polemicist. You actually get different points of view, agree or not. All IMHO. --Vic I watched O'Rally a couple of times because I was wondering why Olbermann kept poking fun at him. I understood almost immediately. You call O'Rally pompous...I suppose my calling him a gasbag is about the same. My favorite cable commentator is Rachel Maddow. She's very smart, very fast, and very nice. Also very funny. Not interested. Because like Olbermann - who I heard got her the show - she surrounds herself with people who agree with her. And like him, she beats the same drum over and over and over. Booooring. Pretty much like Fox gets on a rag about something. With Olbermann, Maddow and you it's Palin at the Turkey Farm. With Fox it's Eric Holder pardoning Adolf Hitler. Hey, that's what boats, the channel flipper and mouse button are for. Escape from the boring or repetitious. IMHO. --Vic |

Olbermann just sets off my "gaydar" like most of his cronies at the least watched "news" channel in history.... |

Never got that impression, but he is one silly guy. Before he got his own show he was pretty "straight" with the news and commentary. *Now he sets off my "gagdar." --Vic Well, not gay in a sexual manner, just gay... can't explain. Anyway, the guy is like watching saturday night live, except without the clever slant. Never seen anybody so full of **** on "serious" tv.. |

I noticed last night that his hair transformation is almost complete. Dark to silver grey in about 3 months. Must be a highly stressful job, counting all his money, huh? Eisboch |

Eisboch Unlike Sean Hannity, whose comments gave the impetus to a brain-dead conservative to shoot up a Unitarian church, nothing Olbermann has said has sparked a braindead liberal into shooting up a Baptist church. |

Eisboch I just don't see how anybody could consider him and most over there as serious newscasters. I have a feeling it's more entertainment to most viewers, kind of like listening to Jon Stewart or reading the Daily Kos. My oldest listens to nothing but NPR, no TV, and sometimes reads the New York Lies on line. Most currant issues go right over her head, but she has all the talking points and considers herself informed.. It's just nuts... |
