that Ranger laid off 130 employees a couple of weeks ago and that
there are plans to reduce by 150 more after January. They've also
extended the annual 10 day Holiday period to three weeks.

Rumor has it that production is being slowed way down too.

Hmmmm - maybe I should buy that Z-22 that I've been looking at now
rather than later - boat might not be available in the Spring. :)

Interesting side note - when Mako was hit during the last recession,
their quality slid dramatically and never recovered. Same with
Hydra-Sports, although they got their act together fast. I wonder
what Stratos, Skeeter and other bass boat manufacturers are doing?

If they're smart, telling their congresscritters to say yes to whatever
stimulus spending Obama proposes.

Are you REALLY so damned stupid that you'd say yes to "whatever"
without knowing fully what that was? How can you be so dumb to ASSume
that everything Obama proposes will be the right thing?

I now know three liberals who automatically assume any spending Obama does
will be OK. Sounds strange, but Harry is not the first.

Actually, I think it has nothing to do with Obama. It's just the idea that
more government spending will equal more government control (over
something), which means a bigger government, which means a bigger AFGE,
which means more votes.

Mako's prices certainly didn't slide! They must be kidding.

How is that going to put money in consumers pockets to buy non-essential
items such as a boat? Most people are hoarding cash right now. If you
give them another check for $600 it isn't going to do anything for them
long term. However, if you cut their federal, state and local taxes in
half along with cutting the capital gains taxes in half you will see
money start moving through the economy like you've never seen it move
before.

Stimulus packages don't get the economy moving.
