I'll give you a couple of hints to get you started again.

We aren't "fighting" a military war in Iraq. That part was done in very
short order and in an overwhelming manner. We are using assets designed to
fight and win wars as training agencies and police forces.

As for "big league" countries, there isn't another one on earth that can
compare with the US military capabilities. Sorry to disappoint you.

From what I gather, the tankers only have about a 20 man crew with pop
gun armaments at the best. i would certainly think that there could be
room on one of those tankers for better equipped professionals and a
budget to safeguard a hundred mil. cargo.

As for capabilities, do they really matter when most of our adversaries
and potential adversaries have or have access to nuclear and biological
weapons? Capabilities don't mean what they used to mean, when our
adversaries believed in M-A-D.

suggesting we do away with it. I just believe that the nature of today's
threats have made our military...less relevant.

High-value cargo ships/tankers will now become like the Q ships of WW2.
Drop a panel and roll out the 20mm pom pom or 5" gun. Blow their scurvy
arses out of the water..ARRRRRRG.
