Status of Loran
I don't think LORAN ever died.
It's still good for navigating, just isn't as accurate as GPS. "Sir Spamalot" wrote in message ... Given that Loran was dead, and has now apparently been revived in the US, has anyone heard any announcements of new Loran receivers other than the Furuno unit that has been available for a while? LORAN never died. The Coast Guard has been maintaining stations for decades.
Here are some links for info on LORAN and other electronics navigation info. http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/ http://www.loran.org/ "William Andersen" wrote in message news:MiHAe.11239$HV1.6968@fed1read07...
