I am replacing the Hitachi LR155-20 alternator on my Yanmar 3GM30 with
a Balmar unit. Can anyone tell me what the T-shaped 2 wire plug on the old alternator is for? I assume its for the tach. Its a t-shaped plug labeled 'R' and 'L'. The wires are red and orange or brown, its kind of hard to tell. Thanks... Drew J/35 - FastForward |

I think you can find the answers to most all of your alternator question in
Beyn's "The 12 Volt Doctor's Alternator Book".. I have a scanned copy in my web achieve at; http://www.hctc.com/~esteve/INGRID%20PICs/Books/ Steve s/v Good Intentions |

On a Yanmar engine the tach sensor is on the flywheel.
