Of course, I have contacted them, but, as usual, they answered that
"the things are as they are because they are as is". I think they think that the customer is always wrong. I had more than one expererience dealing with them. They only power the unit, see what it is showing and reply that the thing is correct, that is, they ever do not try to interpret correctly what the manual is saying and compare with what the unit is doing before replying your question. After many e-mails, if your question is not discarded imediatelly at all, maybe it can be sended forward to their engineering dept, witch eventualy could make a more deep analisys and pheraps corrects the problem in a future upgrade, but you never know if/when this will be done. Problem with GpsMap 276C NMEA PORTS 1 and 2 According the specifications found in the Garmin Home Page, the GpsMap 276C has TWO NMEA serial Ports (1 and 2), and these are in addition of another USB port. But when I set one of the two serial ports to NMEA, the software switches the other serial port to NONE, that is, I can not have both 2 SERIAL ports,1 and 2, set as NMEA. But the manual implies that this is possible. The obvious question is: have you contacted Garmin about this? They do give good support. Meindert |
