2) Because my MAP60C is loaded with the Basemap(original) plus 2 types of
charts ( bluechart Pacific V 6.5 plus city navigation Australia V5 ) I have
problem to "hide" and "unhide" the bluechart and city navigation.
Menu SetupMenu
then it displays
"Menu"
--restore defaults
-- restore ALL map defaults
--Show All
--Show None
-- Show Basemap
-- hide Bluechart Pacific
--show citynavigator
( this is only one example - there are more undocumented screens like this)

The last three are NOT toggle switches. This wording (SHOW or HIDE) make it
very difficult to understand what type of map is ON or OFF.
"SHOW" and "HIDE" are not friendly toggles.

When I toggle the Bluechart Pacific by having it set to HIDE the PAGES do
NOT seem to change if BASEMAP is on HIDE.

Based on my experience with my GPSMap168, I expect that you will find
that those "Show..." and "Hide..." lines are indeed toggle switches.
When they say "Hide...", that implies that the item named is
displayed. Selecting that line will hide the item, and change the
menu to "Show...".

I don't have CityNavigator, so don't know how that might interact with
BlueChart. It is possible that the GPS can only show information from
one map product at a time.

I have found with BlueChart that my 168 seems to revert to the basemap
at unexpected times - I have to zoom in closer (larger scale) than I
would like to show BlueChart detail within Vancouver harbour, although
the smaller scale shows the detail outside the harbour.
