Bar Harbor is a tourist trap/frat party. If you wanted to visit a nice
place in that area by boat, you would have stayed on the "quiet side"
in Bass Harbor.

Bass Harbor is nice. We rented a house there one summer, just down
the shore from Thurston's Lobster Pound. There is almost no
anchorage room or moorings for cruisers however. We tried once and
couldn't make it work.

Bar Harbor is more than tourists. There are a lot of working lobster
boats there. It is also a great place to hang out for cruising boats
because of the inexpensive town moorings, provisioning opportunities
and the shuttle bus service around the island.

Then you would have been the loudest, drunkest bozo.

Not likely.

In Bass Harbor, it's a low bar to hurdle!

Did you get a chance to do the Deckhouse dinner theater? They have
moved to Southwest Harbor as of our last visit, but it's always a fun
evening.

Then there is the Seafood Ketch, with signs requesting that patrons
refrain from fishing out of the windows.
