Would someone know where I can find color-coded deck cap replacements?
I'd like to use them instead of the ones I have now.... blue for water, red for fuel, black for sewage. I don't want to replace the entire plate... just the caps. Thanks! -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com |

This might be what you're looking for: http://www.force4.co.uk/BrandList/mc...0-73b8bc515fd6 They ship all over the world, but any chandlery ought to have replacementcaps on the shelves. -- Who am I? http://www.froerup.dk/claus |

Why replace them with plastic? Don't they have the contents name cast into them? If not, why not get those chromed, curved, plates with the words cast in and fix them to the deck next to the fillers. You could use 5200 if you think your deck might be cored-or maybe even Silaprene :-) |

I guess I'm just wishing for something more obvious. |

A really inexpensive solution is to buy a Dymo label maker and an assortment of tape colors - usually about $10 at your local office supply. These are also very useful for labeling halyard stoppers and other deck hardware. In addition to labeling all of my deck plates, I had small color coded platic laminated placques made up which mount near the deck plate. |

I'd like something on the cap itself, which means it'd have to stick to stainless. -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com |

You could make some dimples around the outer edge of the caps and fill them with enamel. Interesting idea... I do, assuming I can find the drill press behind all the boxes in the garage. |
