The differences
One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut. After the cut he asked
about his bill and the barber replies, "I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week." The florist is pleased and leaves the shop. Next morning when the barber goes to open his shop, there is a thank you card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door. Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies, "I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week." The cop is happy and leaves the shop. Next morning when the barber goes to open up there is a thank you card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door. Later a Republican comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber a gain replies, "I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week." The Republican is very happy and leaves the shop. Next morning when the barber goes to open, there is a thank you card and a dozen different books, such as "How to Improve Your Business" and "Becoming More Successful." Then a Democrat comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies, "I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week." The Democrat is very happy and leaves the shop. The next morning when the barber goes to open up, there are a dozen Democrats lined up waiting for a free haircut. And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between left and right |

After the cut they ASK about his bill and the barber replies, "I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing community service this week." Larry is pleased and they leave the shop. Next morning when the barber goes to open his shop, there is a single thank you card, a dozen bounced checks, and a 12 000 word essay on the PROPER way to do a hair-cut waiting for him at his door. -- http://francois.lonchamp.free.fr Un doigt de linguistique ... et un soupçon de voile |

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between left and right Thanks, Lee, for the chuckle and the insight. And, that is actually how it DOES work in real life. Notice how the three Democrats who have objected to you stayed in form. One used racial slurs and then stuck his head into the sand. Another engaged in unrelated, ad hominem attacks via a lame attempt at a joke. The third managed to get a gay sex reference in. All three are examples of the me, myself and I mentality. This is exactly how Democrats are. What's in it for ME is their mantra? Never a kind word or kind gesture for anybody else but demands for same for THEMSELVES. In other words totally selfish just as, you the original poster, portrayed them, a complete dearth of any semblance of a sense of humor and totally lacking in the social graces. Wilbur Hubbard |

They believe in a ballanced budget, service to our nation and community (example Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and respect to our heritage by preserving historical buildings and 1000 year old trees. As far as science goes they are VERY CONSEVATIVE. For example a person should be prudetn when considering global climate change. The stakes are just to high. The conserative person will always error on the side of prudance when the the fate of the earth and our way of life at stake. In other words be cautious, prudent, and conservative....... plan for the worst , hope for the best.So a consevative person will consider global climate change with great concern. On the other hand Republicans want to spend now, cut all the trees down, build Mac Mannsions everwhere and basically ahve no thought about how tomarrow will look. Republicans want to simply "eat their seed" with litte for thought to the future. Nope, the typical FOX News, Clear Channel stations are all there to further Republican ideas of "Its mine and I want it now!" A rather childish ego state of instant gratification and no consideration for the future. republicans are simply spoiled brats.... ME ME ME ! Dont tell me I can do that ! "Bob" wrote in message ... On Apr 5, 2:46 pm, "Wilbur Hubbard" Dear WIlbur: I disagree completly. Democrats are a rather conservatve bunch. Oh, come now! Certainly you jest! Nothing could be further from the truth. Just listen to the two pathetic Democrat presidential candidates and what they are saying. It's about as liberal as it can get. Tax this, tax that! Go after big business and put the squeeze on them. Slander, defame and attempt to dismantle the military. Grow welfare because people are incapable of providing for themselves. Sit down and have a chat with leaders of terrorist organizations. They believe in a ballanced budget, service to our nation and community preserving historical buildings and 1000 year old trees. They believe in growing government and spending spending spending. They wish to accomplish this by raising taxes. Their method of balancing the budget is to raise taxes until they have 90 percent of what people earn. When they should be working to get rid of large bloated government programs that don't work they actively support and grow them. As for service to our nation, Democrats are all for it as long as somebody else is required to do it. They would exempt themselves. Preserving historical buildings and old trees is not, in any way, conservative. Conservatives would cut the damned tree down and make houses out of them. They would tear down some old useless wreck of a building and put up a modern edifice instead. Things like this provide jobs and stimulate the economy. Boy are you ever off base with respect to the above. Democrats simply don't understand the science behind global warming. They selectively pick and choose that data that supports their insanity and reject outright that data which opposes it. It's the same thing we see happening right here with the liberal propensity to skew the data with filters and kill files. The conservative person is all for being a good stewart of the Earth. But conservatives don't believe in voodoo science the likes of which Al Gore propounds. Nor do they accept the hypocrisy of a fat Al Gore private jetting around the globe spewing tons of that which he claims is destroying the Earth. On the other hand Republicans want to spend now, cut all the trees down, build Mac Mannsions everwhere and basically ahve no thought about how tomarrow will look. Republicans want to simply "eat their seed" with litte for thought to the future. Conservatives believe in cutting trees because trees can be planted again. It's a renewable resource that should be used not just left there to rot. Conservatives are the ones who have the know-how to have their cake and eat it too. Liberals want to have their cake, eat their cake and then have somebody else pay for the next round. And the next and the next! As for eating the seed it is a proven fact that liberals support abortion while conservatives are against it. Anybody who wastes his time watching television is a fool and an idiot. Why? Because television is a vast wasteland. It's there for one reason and one reason only - to brainwash and brain deaden the populace. Your musings here are proof that you spend too much of your time in front of the boob tube! You confuse Republican with conservative. There are lots of Republicans who are not conservative at all. President Bush is a good example of a liberal Republican. He's grown government entitlement programs more than most liberal Democrats have. He's allowed the open borders problem to fester. He's put more government into education. He's now paying homage to the farce of global warming. He's no conservative! The last conservative president was the great Ronald Reagan. Nowhere in his philosophy was the "It's mine and I want it now" philosophy. It is liberals who embody this attitude. Welfare recipients have that attitude. Union workers have that attitude. Illegal aliens have that attitude. People who borrow beyond their means to pay back have that attitude. Obese people have that attitude. Socialized medicine supporters have that attitude. Hilary Clinton, herself, has that attitude. She believes she's entitled to the Presidency. And it goes on and on. Sorry but conservative thinkers do not agree with any of the above. At the root of conservatism is a belief in the abilities of the individual. A belief that, left to his own initiative a man or woman will happily work in their own best interest. And these are intelligent enough to know what's involved in their own best interest. Conservative believe what it says in the Bill of Rights and the Constitution. They believe federal government has a limited role as defined by the Constitution. They believe that the federal government as it stands now is a very real danger to freedom and unalienable rights. Liberals on the other hand actually think it takes a village. Socialism is the only fair system. Big Brother is a necessity. The well-to-do must be forced to pay the way of the not so well to do. Productivity is to be penalized. Public schools should be an instrument of big government indoctrination. The individual has no value. Until everyone is at the same level of forced poverty there is no equity. But, of course there will have to be a large group of wealthy ruling elite to enforce these edicts. That's the core belief of a liberal. Wilbur Hubbard |
