I wear mine, too. Lady pulled out in front of me. My head hit her
roofline, hard. Helmet saved me, too.

It folded the front wheel under the frame and mashed in her driver's
door. What did the most damage to her car was me jumping up and down on
her hood screaming obscenities at her with references about her lineage.

A buddy of mine was buying a helmet a long time ago.

He was trying to decide between the $20.00 helmet and the $50.00
helmet.

I told him "Do you have a $20.00 head?"


You know, you can break most of the bones in the human body and heal up
pretty well.

But break the head bones - all bet are off.

That's a pretty standard line. Way back when helmets only cost that
much, the cheap ones were polycarbonate or some such plastic: Good for
one bounce; subsequent ones were a crap shoot. Mine were all heavy
fiberglass and full, not half.
