H'lo all,

Trying to find some SS straps (quantity 20 or so) that are bent to fit
around a 1" ss tube (like a stanchion or bimini frame), with short
tabs to secure something to the tube. Roughly 0.083 thickness, but
not critical. I am using it to mount a fabricated hardtop cockpit
cover to our 1" stainless steel bimini rails. Another way to
visualize this is to put a section of 1" stainless steel tube laying
horizontally on a table; the eye strap could be used to secure the
tube to the table, with 1/4" diameter lags screws thru the "tabs".

An exhaustive search at Harken, West Marine, Defender, Sailrite,
Bosuns Supply, Downwind Marine (San Diego), Sailboat Shop (San Diego)
and several Google variations has turned up nuttin. Zip, zilch, nada.
The closest thing I can find is one-half of the mount on a Schaeffer
stanchion-mounted furling line block; however, this would require
fabricating an additional wood block to fully reach all the way around
the 1" ss tube.

I have been (unpleasantly) amazed that this type of fitting does not
exist. It could be used to mount virtually anything to 1" ss tube -
Binocular racks, wooden blocks for jerry jugs, wooden blocks for nav
instruments, etc.

The only source I could find was a welder in San Diego, whom
volunteered to do the job for $65 each... LOLROTF!! and he was
serious...

any ideas?

Sorry... here is a more precise link www.ripnet.com/vtf/prod03cr1.htm .
Both sizes of hooks will snap on to 1" diameter pipe. There are links
there for similar hooks as well for routing shorepower cables or mounting
items inside on your canopy pipes.
