Default EarthNC Bathymetric Overlays

The discussion that started a day ago regarding a hand-rolled Google Earth
plotting system made me look at www.EarthNC.com again. They have a free
on-line section that provides Google Earth nautical overlays.

Since I last looked at it, they added a bathymetric overlay for selected
areas based upon NOAA data. These are loaded by clicking the NOAA icon
which provides a color shaded view of the depths. Personally I've never
had an appreciation for the bottom formations of many bays that I've sailed
on. For example, look at the Delaware bay. It's amazing to see the
channels that have been scoured out.

If nothing else it's an interesting way to pass a snowy day waiting while
waiting to get back on the water. I'm clearly getting the itch as this is
normally when we head down to the boat and begin our cruising season. Not
this year since we're headed N.
