Neptune's Rules of Etiquette
Hello Folks:
For the purpose of discussion, and in the hope that someone might read this before chartering in my cruising grounds this year, I'm proposing Neptune's rules of Boating Etiquette. I'll propose the first few rules, and then everyone can add more, or flame me, or argue as they see fit. 1. Never run a tender in an anchorage or marina any faster than you can row it. 2. Keep generator operation to an absolute minimum when sharing an anchorage. 3. Be cognisant of, and accept responsibility for, your vessel's wake at all times. 4. Think safety and courtesy before exercising right-of-way (i.e.: don't tack in front of someone just because you can, or pass a slower boat in a narrow channel to save two minutes). Well? |
