Default Propane vs Alcohol

One thing I haven't seen mentioned (unusual since this is SUPPOSED to be a
"cruising" ng...) is that I haven't seen a gimballed alcohol stove. I'm
replacing the (alcohol) Origo in my Crown 28 with a (propane) Force10
2-burner gimballed stove (that I bought on eBay for $150). That and some
potholders allow me to cook, or at least make coffee, tea, hot chocolate,
etc. while underway. I can't see any way to do that with the Origo (mine
doesn't even have potholders).

That, and my experience the alcohol is WAY slower to heat things. (oh, and
at least in Canada, it's way harder for find alcohol than propane,
especially in smaller coastal communities.)

Look in any hardware store.

Try to find a hardware store in Silva Bay (or Sullivan Bay, or Refuge
Cove, or Squirrel Cove, or...)

And you can refill propane tanks in those places?

Yup. (Although most have "exchanges": you give them your empty tank and
they sell you a full one)

And Lew: Most have bars, and hookers if you know who to ask...
