Removing Black Streak marks
for years I had trouble removing these black streak marks on the freeboard of my sailboats. The only thing that work was to use a mild compound and wax after. Other people and professional boat cleaners are using a strong soap like Spay 9 and waxing after. All that require some elbow crease and I wonder if there is something else that can be done. This morning I saw a product (made in the US) in the RV section of Canadian Tire that is labelled Black Streak remover. I am a little apprehensive to use this product and I wonder if anyone had some experience or other way to remove these black streak marks. |

I used to use MaryKate Black Streak Remover on my old boat, just spray it on a dry surface, let it sit a few seconds, give a light brushing, sit a few minutes and rinse off. It used to work just fine with minimal work, it might be worth a try. John |

I was given a bottle of this stuff by a neighbor who took pity on me after watching my deck scrubbing antics. It's great stuff and does what it says. It doesn't seem to be very harsh or caustic, and has little odor. I have no idea where he got but if I come across it I'll happily pick up another bottle. If the price is reasonable I say give it a try... Totally Awesome at Dollar General |
