This message came in tonight on my email from Skip via ham radio:
From NQ5H: Spoke with Skip, KI4MPC/mm on the Flying Pig. He requests a Shiptrack entry: Time 6:15 PM EDT 31d 17m N 80d 51m W ETA Charleston "in about 24 hours." 73 H. NQ5H NCS Looks like they're gonna make it! I hope he's not traveling due N, though. 80W intersects land almost exactly at the mouth of the Kiawah River on the N end of Kiawah Island, SC! They have reasonably good wx tonight off SC, except for a few thunderstorm cells: http://radar.weather.gov/ridge/radar...t=N0R&loop=yes WCSC TV5 radar direct image w/o all the spam: http://bimedia.ftp.clickability.com/..._LIVERADAR.jpg Closest NDB bouy to The Pig: http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=41004 Larry |
