Podcast #77 (I can just click the download button and it plays fine in Windows Media Player) Though it seems he's moved on to mostly his Troller (motor) designs, it's interesting to hear his philosophy of sail designs; double-ended; cutter-rig, easily maintained, etc. Good interview, with some funny comments too. Anybody read any of his books, and did you like them? --Vic |

Joe Buehler is one of many of the great designers and individualists that have made cruising what it is. Nuff said. Gordon |

Gordon- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Here is a link to the boat Angelica..says it's 50..LOA I guess. http://www.georgebuehler.com/Dragonfly-50.html Good boat for a single guy to roam the world. Kind of narrow and tender when I was aboard but Jim planned to add more ballest. Also a bit confined below IMO. She was splashed here in my marina and rode out hurricane Rita. Jim did a fine job building her, he has a boat to be proud of. He was heading south to the Guatamala or Panama...can't recall which one. Joe |
