Why do suicide bombers kill themselves and others They kill themselves because they are CRAZY!- Hide quoted text - Hi: That is what I thought too. That is until I talked to an old-timer a few years back. He was a 20 year old co-pilot flying a B-17 from GB to Germany during WW II. I can not remember the exact casualty rate, that is, how many planes dropped from the sky, but I remember it was horrible odds against ever walking on land again. The old guy said it was simple suicide flying daylight missions over Germany. Maybe some of you history buffs can find the exact odds of a B-17 crew making it back to GB. Was it something like 7:10 never made it back? Would you call that suicide? The old guy did. But he did it. Does anyone else know of other terrible actions US servicemen went willingly into knowing it meant certain death??? Bob |
