Default waterski on a cruiser

Anyone successfull at occational knee boarding and waterskiing with a small
cruiser like a Sea Ray sundancer 240 or Rinker FV250?

No problem with a '98 Sundancer 250, single 5.6 L. (Water skiing I mean, and
I started in the early 1960's so I don't know about those board things!)
Bravo III engine helps get out of the hole, and top speed of about 40 mph is
plenty.

Skiing and Wakeboarding behind a 27'Sunrunner single 7.4l
is also not a problem. Too much wake for a wakeboard however.
Also sucks gas bigtime :-|
