I'm not sure if I want the bad guys of the world thinking every cruising sailboat is full of SEALS.......... Although, maybe that IS a good idea. Pirate decoys ? Wouldn't that be an *interesting* encounter ? I've met one SEAL who is an expert 505 racing dinghy sailor. His father was hanging out on our trawler for the day while we were performing race committee duty about a mile or two offshore at St Pete Beach. His son, the SEAL, stopped off on our boat at end of day to say hello to his dad while his buddy sailed the 505 back in single handed. We offered the son a ride back to the dock but he said no thanks and jumped overboard to swim back to shore like he did it every day. |
