Buy a "ranch" (anything over a half acre), fence it and post "No Trespassing" signs, then wonder why the natives shun them. Finally, fear of being 'alone in the woods' drives them into "neighborhoods" exactly like the ones they just fled; there to demand laws to 'protect the children' from learning where meat comes from and privacy fences around farms to keep them from seeing animals having sex! Might turn them into perverts y'know. .... My theory is that (sub)urban folks breath so much carbon monoxide as kids that it ruins their brains. Why else would *anyone* think that living cheek to jowl in a tenement, condo or neighborhood is *better* than a doublewide on 100 acres? But the real problem is they think gotta "save" sane happy people like us from having to live like we do!! That's why so many of them voted for Al Gore. )c:| |

Vito and Larry,
This was so funny to read because you described most of my neighbors to a tee!! I moved to NC from NH two years ago because I love boating and hated to see the boat laid up on the hard for 6 months and snow,,,,,,,well,,,,,snow just sucks! I bought into a "boating community" and I am the only one that ever uses my boat! All that my neighbors do are bitch about rules and regulations and sit their fat asses on their lawnmowers circling their "half acre" for four days! I really did screw up moving into a development and think about it every time I walk out the front door and hear the guy yell from accross the street telling me what time my shades went up in my house. I can't fart without breaking a rule! Screw it. In three weeks we will be off for a month or two on the boat. Just us and the cat......I can't wait. Phil "Vito" wrote in message ... Phil Phil, You oughta move up to the REAL New Hampshire! Unfortunately we get a lot more snow, but we don't have many rules, no condo associations, none of that crap! Of course there isn't any salt water up here, but there are plenty of lakes and there aren't many boats on them. Best, -- Larry Email to rapp at lmr dot com |

You hit the nail on the head. No salt water and the trawler just doesn't
look right on a lake! I moved from Goffstown and before that was Bennington NH. That was about as close to the "Real NH" as I wanted to be. 2 hrs from the ocean, millions of black fly's and lots of snow. I love it here in NC and the ((local)) people are some of the friendliest I have ever met. NH will soon become part of Massachusetts :-( Just look at Derry. "L. M. Rappaport" wrote in message ... We don't recognize anything south of Franconia Notch! Also, you can control the black flies quite well with Mosquito Magnets and their knockoffs. I have to agree about NC, though - used to do a bit of consulting for Lucent in Greensboro - great folks and nice country. Best, -- Larry Email to rapp at lmr dot com "L. M.
