This would mean all flushes would go through the L/S, but you wouldn't
have to run it for urine only...you'd only have to run it when solids

That said, the power consumption isn't that much. 1.5 AH/flush sounds a
bit scary, but it typically only amounts to about 7.5 AH/day/person even
if it runs after every flush...15/day for a cruising couple. You'd have
to be cutting your 12v power resources really close to the bone not be
able to spare that much per day. Otoh, if you have 4 kids along, it's a
different story.
