Please excuse the crude analogy, but sharing your boat would be like sharing
your wife.. Anyway I wouldn't consider it. Bad experience in chartering my last boat (Cheoy Lee Clipper 33) for 3 months. The money was good but the boat just was never the same to me. You might not feel this way if it were a simple day sailer or weekender. As long as you don't hold any particular effection for the boat. If this were a group or network, like Time Share, then no one really owns the boat and everyone is free to abuse it since the cost of the repairs/depreciation would be spread out over the whole group (guilty or not). Let's face it, owning a boat of any degree of complexity requires that the owner be on hand to ensure that the systems are operated correctly and not abused.
