Default Thinning Epoxy

James,
Acetone is to volatile, in my opinion & experience. I use Denatured Alcohol.
Available at your local 'home center' paint department. I buy the gallon
cans - reasonable price, a good all-around solvent, and the base of some
types of primers.

While the 'stated' dilution of epoxy is 'about 10 percent', that is to
retain the full properties. For getting deep into cracks and sealing
purposes . . . I've diluted to as great as 50 percent. Bear in mind, this is
only the 'base' of several further 'treatments'. Next will usually be a 10
percent dilution, followed by 'full strength' with a fine filler of some
kind - depending on the job at hand.

Regards & Good Luck,

A while back someone mentioned that you could thin epoxy with acetone.
I need to pour some into some cracks.I'm using System 3 epoxy. Thanks,
Jim
