My boat was already documented when I bought her. So was ours. But it still cost a bundle to chnage the owner name and get a new documentation with the same number. It was about $85 for us, but maybe it went up. Of course, this is a "lifetime" payment, there is no annual fee. In MA, it means no annual registration, so it saves money pretty soon. Mine was $120, but I had to send a couple of forms twice at $15 a pop, due to a short between the ears. No DMV registration is very nice also. She was previously documented, I kept the same boat name, and certainly changed the owner name (got that one right at least). :-) -- "j" ganz @@ www.sailnow.com |
