Default Rigging an Elvstrom Dinghy

wrote:
Hi,

I wonder can someone help me please?

I have recently bought this elvstrom dinghy and want to get it up and
running. I have tried to rig it but do not know if I am missing ropes,
pulleys etc.
Here are some other pictures of the boat.

Here is a picture of the parts I have and the layout of the boat.

The pieces are labeled
A. Pulleys
B. Elvstrom Rachet Block, not to sure where this goes or what it
attaches to.
C.Main Sheet System, again have tried to attach it to the Bow and the
track but not sure.
D. I presume this is part of the main sheet pulley system.
E. The longest rope, I presumed it was connected to the track holding
the sheet pulley system.
F. I think this is for attaching the trapeze.
G. Elvstrom Self Bailers. I know what these are for.
H. Not sure what these are or what they are for.
I. Main Sheet track.
J. Not to sure what these are called, but I presume they are for rope
but which ones.
K. Cleats, again not too sure which ropes go though here.
L. Cleats, again not too sure which ropes go though here.
M. Bow hooks for the main sheet pulleys.
N. 4 short ropes in total either side of the transom, but to not know
what they are for.

The rigging seems to be different to other dinghy's.

Regards
Sean

I remember sailing one of these in the 60's. What a fun boat. The
photo brought back memories. It's hard to remember specific details.
It would be hard to be very wrong.

I reserve the right to be incorrect:

A Boom vang
B goes on K
C the boom vang, one line leads through block and to "L", both sides
D is a purchase on the jib halyard
F is the hookup for the trapeze
H The Elvstrom ratchet block goes on one of these.
I Bungee cord for trapeze return
K was the main sheet
L Jib Halyard tension and boom vang
M isn't vvisible in the photo, but you probably are refering to the
bales on the boom for the vang and main sheet
I don't see N
The boat I sailed didn't carry a spinnaker.

Let us know how you did when you get it going. Expect a thrilling sail.
The dagger board had a line to hold it down.
