Buy service in a controlled area, hire some one else to screen your calls for you. Go away, netkop. Please do not litter. Understanding the charter is being a netkop? My my. Tell you what, why don't you go and discuss sailing & cruising among the ads at yachtworld.com? That's be a lot nicer than encouraging for-sale ads here, and more consistent with your philosophy. I am very amazed at what this whole topic of selling one boat generated. It seems to me that there are some extremely immature posters and a few who realize that after one post that I made, there maybe something more that I may be able to offer to this group, as a sailor myself and also I'd like to learn from other sailors. I've been learning the ways of sailing for only ten years now, My husband has been into sailing since he was a boy. I was more into motor boating for a short time way before I met him but, since then it's a sailing lifestyle. Together we have rebuilt 3 sail boats - a 1963 Philip Rhodes 32' (the one for sale) - a 1970 Bristol 26 and a 1972 Carter 33' As well as sail the Chesapeake Bay, we like to do restoration boat projects together- but not for a living. The Philips Rhodes was our primary boat for about eight years and now the Carter is our primary boat. The Carter is a very light boat, fin keel, wide beam and she sails extremely well. We completely customized the entire interior to our liking. As I said before - I will be putting together a webpage about the restoration process in the near future for anyone who is interested. All of us here are interested in exactly this sort of thing. Please post all updates and work stories, questions and comments with respect to your project. There are very knowledgable people here who can answer many restoration questions, along with plenty of other cruising questions. We'll probably keep her for atleast 5-6 years and then move onto a newer project boat. Mainly because we like it as a hobby. A fairly expensive hobby, I might add. And some wives complain that their husbands go golfing too much. We've have sailed (on chartered boats -by ourselves) in the Keys, the BVI's and in Belize. And we went on on motorboat trip the Abacos in the Bahamas with a group of relatives and friends in Florida. Well I hope no-one gets MAD, TENSE and STRESSED anymore. No need for that - basically you are just destroying your own coronary and digestive systems. There is really no place for someone to easily find out the "charter" of this newsgroup and rules thereof. It always surprises me the venom that seems to come from some who are trying to enforce the "rules" even though we all know there is really no way for anyone to know the rules without asking. Maybe venom is better than anarchy in this case, I don't know. -- Stephen ------- For any proposition there is always some sufficiently narrow interpretation of its terms, such that it turns out true, and some sufficiently wide interpretation such that it turns out false...concept stretching will refute *any* statement, and will leave no true statement whatsoever. -- Imre Lakatos |

![]() You post here to sell one boat. It's against the n/g charter - and BTW, it's a Usenet n/g, not a google group. There's a big difference. Point is, there's a proper place to post FS ads and a little research by you would have found it. Posting your question without the boat details probably would have gotten you a polite response that it wasn't appropriate here, with advice as to where it *was* appropriate, and, likely, a number of emails asking off group for more information. The defence of 'it's just one boat' is like the litterer's defence - it's just one can out the window, or one butt I dropped etc. Sorry but it doesn't cut it. You're not the first to do this and unfortunately you won't be the last, so next time the reaction will be the same. Most people aren't angry or stressed, they're just mildly annoyed and exasperated that newbies like you can't be bothered doing a quick search or follow the group for a while, to see how things go. As for moderated - this is Usenet, there are no moderators or contrariwise, everyone is their own moderator. That's what killfiles are for. I'd suggest you look on this as a learning experience, drop your defense and post information on sailing, boat repairs, tips & tricks etc. Become part of the group rather than a drop-in trying to sell something. Yes, it must be very difficult for some people to Google "charter rec.boats.cruising" It always surprises me the venom that seems to come from some who are trying to enforce the "rules" even though we all know there is really no way for anyone to know the rules without asking. Everyone knows the rules. KVL essentially admitted she knew it was probably against the rules but would rather break the rules than ask permission. I don't see how anyone could even consider buying a boat, or even a book, from someone like that. Maybe venom is better than anarchy in this case, I don't know. Why is it venom? Are you saying you would welcome everyone to post their used goods for sale here? Do you realize how many boats are for sale? |

"Capt. JG" wrote in message ... "Scotty" wrote in message ... "Gay FArts" wrote in message ... Shut up ****wad. She is not just selling boats, and all "for sale" ads are against standard and longstanding usenet rules that are accepted by everybody. There are newsgroups for adverts that have either "ForSale" "marketplace" or "FS" as part of their names. This is not one of them. Come to thinkl of it, this group's name does not contain "Gay" or "Asswipe", so you don't belong here either! Bad time of the month? If you ignore him or plonk him, he'll go away.
